Ground floor family house for a young large family. The central living room has separate access to the children's shared bedroom block and the parents' residence. Everyone can join in the common spaces, but there is also the possibility of seclusion. The simple massing is provided by the stump of a square-plan gable-ended building. There are transitional spaces between the exterior and interior.

The building's restraint, combined with a fastidious attention to detail, creates a subtle, intimate atmosphere. This requires the honest and mutually accepting work and cooperation of all those involved.
