Gödöllő

2021- (under construction)

The Reformed church, built in 1745, stands on the main square of Gödöllő, around which not only the square but also the center of the congregation has developed. Part of the center is the Reformed Lyceum, one of the most successful high schools in Hungary. Built in 1927 and expanded in detail, the building no longer meets the requirements of quality education, and its development has become indispensable. Community spaces – a large hall, an auditorium, a dining hall, a gym, specialist classrooms, and an increase in the number of group rooms – need to be created, and the existing old parts of the building and the courtyard need to be renovated.

The expansion will take place in several phases in a new building complex on the site of the parish in the courtyard. The old and new wings of the building will be connected. The small-scale, friendly spaces will remain, complemented by new, large-capacity, transparent, youthful, reconfigurable community spaces. The face of the building complex is the church. For this reason, the new building has been set back from the main square. A new main entrance will be created between the church and the new building parallel to it, which we have covered with a gabled roof characteristic of the environment. We have provided the Drapp-colored brick-clad building with framed windows, which also reduce its visual mass.
