The 'Csacsiház' once stood in the center of Rákospalota. It got its name from its former function, a soda factory opening onto two streets, where donkey carts lined up one after another in the 120-meter-long, 23-meter-wide courtyard to pick up their goods. Later, the building was converted into emergency housing, whose residents posed an increasing threat to the safety of the neighborhood. In keeping with the unique characteristics of this location, we developed a 60-unit condominium complex, primarily for young people starting out on their own.
The residential blocks, which are connected by a corridor running along the adjacent firewall, are interspersed with small green courtyards. An underground parking garage was built. The ground floor, in the wings connecting the buildings on the two streets, houses a doctor's office, a shop, and a café. The exposed concrete elements have been given different textures on each floor; on the ground floor, snails, on the upper floor, branches, then leaves and wavy lines symbolizing the sky break up the monotony of the concrete.
